Weird Weather Good for Writing

The weird weather we have been having lately is good for writing. Which in turn is also good for the annual NaNoWriMo writing extravaganza. Every year hundreds if not thousands of writers agree to write together every day during the month of November. We see messages on Twitter all through the month about the number of words accomplished by that author that day. We encourage our fellow writers even if we are not participating ourselves. It is a supportive group and may even help you get your next novel launched. The goal is to communicate with each other as well as get a lot of writing done. You don’t have to be working on a specific project they offer daily challenges and prompts too. So take advantage of all the downtime we have had lately and try to get some serious writing done. It doesn’t have to come out as polished prose. That is what a good editor is for.

Writing a novel alone can be difficult, even for seasoned writers. NaNoWriMo helps you track your progress, set milestones, connect with other writers in a vast community, and participate in events that are designed to make sure you finish your novel. Oh, and best of all, it’s free!

Young writers and educators, explore our Young Writers Program

Good Luck to all you hard-working writers out there. Who knows I might get organized enough next year to join all you intrepid explorers of the written word.

November also has some great holidays one of which is Veteran’s Day. We want to thank all of our veterans for their service wherever they may be.

Please be safe, enjoy your day and if you see a military person in uniform please thank them as well.
